What is ITookThisOnMyPhone? iTookThisOnMyPhone is the easiest way to get photos off of your smartphone and make them usable. Once the application is installed on your smartphone all you need to do is take pictures. As the pictures are taken they are wirelessly transmitted to your own personal photo gallery on our website. From your photo gallery you can view your photos, download them to your local computer, and share them with friends by email. How much does your service cost? It’s free. There is no charge for using the service or storing your photos on our server. How do I upload my photos? Simply take a picture. iTook will automatically upload the photo to your personal photo gallery. What are the requirements? To use the iTookThisOnMyPhone mobile application, you’ll need a BlackBerry® smartphone with camera (BlackBerry® Pearl 8100 Series or BlackBerry® Curve 8300 Series or a Window Mobile® smartphone) with an unlimited mobile data plan with your phone configured for data access. Does this service send all of my pictures automatically or do I have some control over sending each picture? If automatic mode is selected, the picture will be sent with no interaction by the user. Or you can set your device to prompt you on whether or not to upload each picture individually to the server. You can also mark your photos private and make them available to share. Is your service registered with BlackBerry®? We are members of the BlackBerry ® ISV Alliance Program . BlackBerry® issued a press release on October 25, 2007 highlighting our company. How long does it take for my pictures to be sent to my PC via the web site? This depends on your camera’s resolution and the speed of your network. Typically a single picture will be uploaded to your website in about a minute. What if I don’t have an unlimited data plan? We recommend having an unlimited data plan so that you don’t incur additional charges from your network provider. Wi-Fi enabled phones can transmit the photos using a wireless network rather than the carrier’s data plan. Can I turn off the service if I want to? Yes. You can turn the application on or off from the device. Are my pictures viewable by anyone else? Your pictures are hosted on our secure website and can only be accessed when you use your encrypted password. You can choose to keep all of your pictures private or to share them with friends by giving them access to your site. How long does it take to set this up on my phone? It is simple and fast. Just go to www.itookthisonmyphone.com from your PC or from your BlackBerry® and follow the directions. You should be able to have it installed and running in minutes. Can I download the ITookThisOnMyPhone application from my smartphone? If your smartphone is compatible, simply point your browser to www.itookthisonmyphone.com and download the the application. Where can I find the ITookThisOnMyPhone application after I have downloaded it? Our icon should show up on the main screen or in the applications folder depending on your theme. How do I know if my photos are uploading? If you go look at the application screen on your smartphone the status will show Uploading. Just below the uploading message, it will show how many photos are in the queue to be uploaded. Do I have to wait for my photo to finish uploading before I can take another one? No, you can take as many photos as you want and they will be queued up and sent to the server in the order they were taken. I’m curious about some of the items on the application screen. Can you tell me what they mean? There are a number of indicators that tell you the condition of your software and photo transmission process 1. Status The status field tells you what your device is doing. There are five possible conditions that could be encountered.
2. Connection Type This indicates how you are communicating with your network provider. Each network has its own communication protocols. 3. Privacy Level This allows you to choose whether the photo you are taking will be publicly viewable or private. 4. Ask Before Uploading This setting gives you the opportunity to preview your photo before it uploads to your website. 5. Delete After Upload By checking this box, your photos will be deleted from your device as soon as they are uploaded to your website. If the box is unchecked, the photos will be stored on your phone. There is a limit on how many photos you can store in your device and you will get a warning message when you have reached the limit. 6. Send GPS Location By checking this box, the Global Positioning System tracks where you are when you take a photo.
